Ray Coyle is an English mallet player, percussionist, composer and educator now living in Chicago.
Ray grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne in England has experience playing many types of music in the U.S. and Europe from jazz and rock bands to classical recitals .
After earning a degree from Trinity College London Ray furthered his studies in the Netherlands gaining a masters degree in percussion performance .
Whilst in the Netherlands he was also able to study with some of the greatest mallet players of our time, namely Keiko Abe, Leigh Howard Stevens and Dave Samuels .
Ray has written film scores as well as music for dance productions, percussion ensemble and solo etudes as well as continuing to write for his current ensemble .
